Local singers and performers are invited to get in touch about sharing a family-friendly act. Ideas include film songs, Bollywood or other dance, drama, magic, karate demonstrations and more.

About us
Since 2015, the Centre for Tamil Language and Culture – Rugby has supported the Rugby Tamil community through Tamil learning. More than 40 children aged 3 to 16 learn with 10 teachers, from Nursery to GCSE.
Weekly lessons develop children’s reading, writing, listening and speaking in Tamil.
Children and families meet, learn and celebrate together as part of the Rugby Tamil community.
Our annual events give children opportunities to take part, work together and share their abilities.
Annual Tamil exams assess reading, writing, listening and speaking, helping us understand each child’s progress.
Beginners are welcome. We assess each new child and place them in the class that best matches their current level.
Learning pathway
A gentle start with Tamil words, sounds and conversation.
Build reading, writing, listening and speaking through weekly Tamil lessons.
Develop Tamil language skills and prepare for annual BTLEB assessments.
We prepare students for Edexcel International GCSE Tamil (Pearson).

Our first students sat GCSE Tamil in 2019. In 2025, all three students who sat the exam achieved an A grade.
No. Parents do not need to speak Tamil. If you do, practising with your child at home can support their learning.
Beginners are welcome. We assess each new child and place them in a class suited to their current level.
The annual registration fee is £25. The monthly fee is £25.
Your child can try one or two classes before you decide whether to enrol.
Please bring a notebook and pencil or pen. You can buy the class book once your child has decided which class to join.
The school is affiliated with the British Tamil Language Examination Board (BTLEB). We also prepare students for Edexcel International GCSE Tamil (Pearson).
